An introduction to Outdoor Photography

  • Location: Various Woodlands and Country Parks across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
  • We discuss camera settings and techniques for outdoor photography, and the importance of natural lighting on subject matters. We explore a park or woodland area, looking for things of interest to photograph, and you are given expert tuition on getting the most from your camera to develop your skills. A basic understanding of camera Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO is desirable but not essential.
  • This is a half day morning workshop. You are free to explore and experiment at your leisure in the afternoon if you wish (Toilet and catering facilities will be available nearby)

Deer and fawns in the Spring

  • Location: Leicestershire or Nottinghamshire.
  • We hope to see a combination of Red and Fallow deer in the parkland and their fawns! Early spring sees the arrival of Bambi like fawns and spring flowers and plants.
  • Full day workshop, with brunch provided at the café onsite.

Lake and Woodland Birds

  • Location: Nottinghamshire
  • Birds that we hope to see include; Swans, Peacocks, Mallards, Greylag Goose, Tufted Duck, Chaffinch, Jackdaw, Great Tit, Nuthatch, Robins, Coots, Blackbirds.
  • This fabulous country park and some of the woodland areas have established bird feeding stations, and we explore the quietest areas for the best photographic opportunities.
  • Half Day workshop. Café onsite if you wish to stay for lunch, and explore and experiment at your leisure in the afternoon.

Red and Fallow Deer in the Autumn

  • Location: Leicestershire or Nottinghamshire.
  • We hope to see a combination of Red and Fallow deer in the parkland and autumnal bracken. The stags are rutting at this time of year and are more active, as they challenge rivals for females.
  • Full day workshop, with brunch provided at the café onsite.
